Foleil brings training, food and recovery into the same app. Ask Sprout can use records from these areas in one question, rather than treating each as a separate conversation. That is a description of how Foleil supplies context, not evidence that every AI answer is correct or that Foleil improves health outcomes.
This page explains the implemented data flow and its controls. The visual below is a clearly marked placeholder for a seeded demonstration. It is not a captured AI answer.
One question, three parts of the day
Consider this question: “How do my recent training, meals and sleep fit together?” A synthetic example could contain three completed strength sessions, dated meal entries with known protein values, and recorded nights of sleep. Foleil can supply those records together so Sprout can refer to the same period across all three areas.
Example data. The illustration shows invented inputs only. A recorded demonstration of Sprout's actual answer is not yet available here. No personal Health records were used.
| Area | Examples of context | What it cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| Training | Completed sessions, exercises, recorded sets, durations, volume and the scheduled week. | An unlogged workout is not evidence of inactivity. |
| Food | Dated meals, known nutrient totals, water and saved food context. | A partial food diary is not a measurement of everything eaten. |
| Sleep and recovery | Recorded sleep, daily recovery and strain figures, and dated summaries. | A pattern across records does not show that one behaviour caused another. |
What can Sprout see?
The available categories are profile and body measurements; goals, plans and programmes; workouts; daily activity; food and water; sleep, recovery and strain; heart and vitals; cycle and life-stage records; mood, energy, soreness and stress; journal entries; habits; logged medications; health documents and lab results saved in Foleil; mindful sessions; awards and streaks; Sprout's saved memory; preferences; places; and selected photos.
“Available” does not mean the whole database is attached to every request. Foleil builds compact summaries, prioritises relevant sections and limits the amount supplied. The shared context builder uses recent detail and older weekly summaries. A source that is not ready contributes no section; missing records are not filled in with invented values. Photos are supplied only for a request that needs them.
The question and words or photos you choose to submit are themselves part of the request. Place and route summaries can be relevant; a nearby-ideas request can also use your exact location with the app's location permission. This is not a claim that no location ever leaves the device.
How do I choose what is used?
Ask has a Use my saved data control for the question. Coach settings also provide a Coach data selection for its answer facts and charts, including training, food, sleep and other supported categories. These controls determine the coach's selected facts and chart inputs.
External AI has a broader, separate consent model. Use Sprout's AI is on by default after the required agreement, and you can switch it off in Settings. The agreement records its time, privacy-policy version and named provider. The current Foleil service disclosure names Anthropic (Claude); a connected ChatGPT route can also serve eligible requests. A current agreement is required for the Foleil AI service, and withdrawing it stops that service from accepting further requests.
There are no per-category external AI sharing switches in this version. The external AI context can draw on the available categories together. Coach data selections should therefore not be treated as a promise to exclude those categories from every external AI feature. Review the in-app “What's shared” disclosure and the Privacy Policy, and use the global AI switch when you want to stop external AI requests.
How does the answer stay connected to records?
Foleil turns records into dated facts and compact summaries before supplying them to the model. For the coach's facts and charts, training, food and sleep are checked separately for availability. This lets an answer use the records that exist without pretending a missing category is complete.
The context is bounded, so “uses your data together” means relevant context from multiple areas can be supplied in one request. It does not mean every stored detail is considered, that the model found a causal relationship, or that its advice has been clinically validated. Check the dates, quantities and coverage in an answer against your own logs.
Structured profile identifiers are treated separately from the free text and images you submit. The app's sharing disclosure says that words you write and photos you choose go as they are. Avoid including information you do not want a provider to receive.
What evidence is still missing?
This is a first-party explanation of Foleil's implementation. We do not have published long-term evidence that Foleil improves consistency over months, and we make no such claim here.
For another view of the implementation, read how Foleil builds a programme and the measured nutrition desk check.
Frequently asked questions
Can one Ask Sprout question use workouts, food and sleep?
Yes. Foleil can supply context from all three areas together when records are available. The context is relevant and bounded, so this does not mean every saved record is included or that the answer is guaranteed to be correct.
Can I turn Sprout's external AI off?
Yes. Use Sprout's AI is on by default after agreement and can be switched off in Settings. The current version does not provide per-category external AI sharing switches. Coach data selections and the question's saved-data control are separate controls for coach facts and charts.
Is the example an actual answer or a real person's Health data?
Neither. It is a labelled placeholder illustration using invented inputs. A captured answer from a synthetic seeded review is still needed. No personal Health records were used.
